Why Your Blood Type is so Important
Have you ever wondered why others may thrive on the latest fad diet, while the same diet leaves you feeling tired and listless? Would you like to know how certain foods and supplements could help you recover from illness and avoid serious disease? We invite you to learn more about how the Blood Type Diet® can help dramatically improve your overall health and wellness.
Ask your average clinician, and they may tell you that blood type is nothing more than a 'transfusion issue.' Now, studies from around the world are confirming what Dr. D'Adamo's research has shown; that our blood type is a decisive factor in every aspect of our health.
ABO typing was originally associated only with blood typing, and in the early 1900's many believed its further research usefulness was limited. In fact, other than the research popularized in Dr. Peter D'Adamo's Right 4 Your Type Library, there have been no other works in existence that examine the non-significance of ABO blood type.
Science now shows that ABO genetics, for example, influence stomach acid, intestinal enzyme production, the quality of intestinal flora, and the health of digestive tissues. All of these, in turn, are affected by diet. We don't all have the same blood type, nor should we all have the same diet and supplementation.
What This Test Will Tell You:
You've probably seen blood types expressed as a letter followed by either a positive (+) or negative (-) symbol, e.g. A+ or 0-. This is actually a combination of two separate blood classification systems: the ABO System (say A-B-O) and the Rhesus System.
The ABO System classifies blood into four possible types: A, AB, B and O. The Rhesus System is the plus or minus sign that comes after the letter, e.g. A+ or A-.
Your ABO 'Type' and the Rhesus 'Factor' of your blood are genetic and can be found by testing for the presence, or absence, of certain proteins in the blood called antigens and antibodies. If, for example, your blood contains the A-antigen, you are said to have type A blood. If it contains the B- you are said to have type B blood. Your blood may contain both antigens, which means you have type AB blood, or neither A nor B antigens, which means you have type O blood.
Besides the A and B antigen, the D-antigen is also important. The Rhesus factor is determined by the D- If you've got it, your blood is positive, if not, it is negative. So, a person with both the B and D antigens, for example, would have type B+ blood. A person with A, but no D antigens would be A-, and so on. By testing your blood for the presence of all three antigens, this kit will tell you both your ABO Type and your Rhesus factor.
